Description
This gorgeous maroon leather purse is mounted with delicate wirework silver corners and a fully hallmarked silver clasp. It is dated Birmingham 1894 and bears the marks of Charle Penny Brown, a leather goods manufacturer. The silver clasp is fully functioning and opens to reveal four "accordeon" compartments. The interior with an additional front pocket. it is a lovely example and is very tactile and pleasing.Hallmarks:
CPB for Charle Penny Brown.
Lion passant.
Birmingham mark.
Date letter "u" for 1894.
Condition:
Leather in good condition.
Silver corners and clasp in equally good condition.
