This is an rareand rather gorgeous Edwardian silver "Lavender Salts " glass scent bottle by the Crown perfumery Company, London. The embossed silver sleeve by the renowned silversmith Henry Matthews is dated Chester 1907. Of cylindrcail for, the lid in the shape of the crown. The silver sleeve embossed with classical ribbon-tied swags.

This exquisite and unusual Georgian silver patch box dates circa 1790. Of circular form, the pull-off cover with intricate filigree decorations surrounding a vacant roundel. The sides with filigree decorations and the back plain. It is unmarked as was very common in the Georgian era with small items of vertu.

Unmarked but tested as silver.

Condition:

Very good. No dings, no dents.
Slight compression to the lid, barely noticeable and mentioned for accuracy.

This delightful and very unusual Edwardian silver swan pin cushion bears the marks of Adie & Lovekin and is dated Birmingham 1908. The body with detailed plumage rests on a circular silver ring. The eyes inset with ruby stones, a rare and exquisite detail. The original cushion finished in red velvet. The underside with black Morocco leather.

This beautiful Georgian silver snuff box is dated Birmingham 1827 and was made by the renowned Thomas Shaw, who was part of the "toy making" fraternity . Of conventional rectangular form, the front with vacant cartouche and the back with an engine-turned background. The hinged cover with a raised thumb piece and engined-turned borders. The sides embossed with foliate decorations. Opening to reveal the original rich gilt interior. Excellent silver gauge, feels heavy when picked up.

* from the late 18th to early 19th Century, Birmingham was the centre for the making of “toys”: small decorative objects from silver. They were produced in small family businesses and factories throughout Birmingham. They made a range of items including patch boxes, nutmeg graters, buckles, caddy spoons, vinaigrettes, snuff boxes and babies rattles.

This very elegant sterling silver mustard pot is dated Birmingham 1910 and was made by the sought-after silversmith William Hutton. Of traditional oval form , the plain sides with a distinctive rope-twist border, giving it an Arts & Craft look. The domed cover with urn shaped finial. The back with elegant scroll handle. Fitted with the original blue glass liner and sold with a very well matched sterling silver mustard spoon by John Round, dated Sheffield 1909.

This very elegant George VI silver vase-shaped sugar caster is dated Birmingham 1938 and bears the marks of the Barker Brothers. Modelled on early George II casters (circa 1730) the baluster body with a detachable pierced cover. The cover with baluster finial and alternating vertical bands of decorative piercing. Raised on a circular pedestal base.

This is a very pretty pale turquoise gilt glass attar perfume bottle. These type of scent bottles are also known as an Oxford Lavender or Throwaway , as they were sold containing a sample of perfume and were intended to be thrown away after use. This particular scent is smaller than expected, as well as being a pale turquoise colour, making it all the more collectable. The four faceted sides heightened with simple gilt decorations.
