Description

This delightful George III solid silver caddy spoon is dated Birmingham 1781 and was made by the prolific silversmith John Taylor, who specialised in small pieces and objects of vertu. The shovel shaped bowl engraved with pretty prick-dot decorations. The handle engraved with stylised motifs surrounding a vacant reserve. The back fully hallmarked.

IT for Joseph Taylor.
Birmingham Assay Mark.
Date letter "I" for 1781.
Duty Mark.
Lion Passant.
Condition:
Very good.
