Description

This unusual George III solid silver caddy spoon is dated Birmingham 1815 and was made by the prolific silversmith Joseph Taylor, who specialised in small pieces and objects of vertu. The fluted oval bowl centered by floral decorations on a stippled engraved background. The hollow handle engraved with stylised motifs surrounding a vacant reserve. The back fully hallmarked. Very often hollow handled caddy spoons are creased, this one is in remarkable condition.
