Description

This is a very pretty and rather rare gilt and enamelled glass Oxford lavender perfume bottle. These type of scent bottles are also known as an Attar scent bottles or "Throwaway" as they were sold containing a sample of perfume and were intended to be thrown away after use. This particular one is a more unusual enamelled example. Elaborate Oxford Lavender scent bottles are very collectable. Both sides heightened with naive polychrome enamel floral decorations and heightened in gilt. The sides with white enamel dots. Fitted with the original gilt glass penny shaped stopper.
