Description

This is a fabulous quality and a very striking Victorian silver and overlay glass dressing table jar. It bears the marks of Thomas Ingleton, dressing case fittings maker, from Hatton Garden, London. The Arts & Craft planished lid with vacant roundel and gilt interior. Mounted on a beautiful hobnail-cut glass body with a green overlay frieze and star-cut base.
Hallmarks:
T.I for Thomas Ingleton.
London Assay Mark.
Date letter "a" for 1896.
Lion passant.
Dimensions:
Height: 9cm / 3.6 inches.
Diameter: 6.5cm / 2.5 inches.
Condition:
Very good.
No chips or cracks to the main body.
Silver lid in very good condition.
