Description

This is a beautiful Mid-Victorian silver gilt turquoise glass scent bottle. The sliced-cut glass body mounted with a beautiful embossed silver gilt sprung lid, always a sign of quality. This early spring-cap mechanism is claimed to have been invented by Thomas Diller (1828-1851). The front of the lid with a push button. The inner lid glazed and sprung, therefore not requiring a stopper.
Hallmarks:
Not hallmarked, as it very often was the case with scent bottle lids, but tested as silver.

Height: 9cm / 3.4 inches.
Width: 4cm / 1.4 inches.
Depth: 2.5 cm / 1 inch.
Condition:
Very good.
Glass in the inner neck in good condition, no cracks.
No holes to the silver lid.
Glass in very good condition.
