Description
This superb Georgian wirework Old Sheffield plate bread basket dates circa 1825. Wirework baskets are rather scarce and this is a lovely example. The lower section with lobed sides , the upper section with an elegant wirework frame within a shell interspersed gadroon border. Fitted with a beautiful rope-twist swing handle.Condition:
Wirework in very good condition.
a little copper showing at places on some of the wirework, adding to the patina.
