Description

This exquisite and rare Victorian solid silver propelling pencil bears the marks of William Vale and Sons and is dated Birmingham 1896. Of cylindrical form and decorated with foliate engravings, each slider with an appropriated coloured hard stone cabochon for red, black and blue. The end fitted with with suspension ring. One could see it as the ancestor the of the widely known BIC multicolour Biro pen!

Date letter "w" for 1896.
Birmingham Assay mark.
Lion Passant.
