Description

This is a rare York Georgian silver Old English pattern basting spoon by the York makers Hampston & Prince. The firm of Hampston & Prince was first established in 1770. They worked together until 1799. The spoon is a good silver gauge and is a little shorter than traditional basting spoons , measuring 10.2 inches long.
Hallmarks:
IH over IP for John Hampston & John Prince
Date between 1780 and 1784.
Leopard's head
Lion Passant.
Condition:
Very good condition.
No dents to the bowl.
Not engraved.
Good set of marks.
Dimensions:
Length: 26.5 cm / 10.2 inches.
