Description

This fabulous Victorian inlaid silver and mother of pearl visiting card case was made circa 1870 at the height of the Aesthetic movement period. Of canted rectangular form, both front and back with mother of pearl diamond panels. The front inlaid with engraved silver panels.
The mother of pearl typically engraved with Aesthetic movement motifs; a swift flying over a ponds with reeds.
The poush button on the front opening to reveal the original interior, lined with Royal blue satin and moire silk
Hallmarks:
Unmarked but tested as silver.

11cm x 8cm.

Very good condition.
Good hinge, snaps shut.
Crisp engravings.
