Description
This is a fabulous and very elegant three piece Art Deco sterling silver coffee service by the illustrious Mappin & Webb.The coffee pot having a tapered body engraved with geometric lines, a stepped hinged lid with carved ivory finial, a stepped spout and ivory handle, the cream jug and sugar bowl with conforming decorations.
The coffee pot still retains its original muslin strainer.
Excellent heavy silver gauge on all three pieces.
The base engraved with retailer's marks "Mappin & Webb, London & Sheffield"
Hallmarks:
M&W for Mappin & Webb.
Lion Passant.
Sheffield Assay mark.
Date letter "s" for 1935.
