Description

This rare pair of Indian Colonial solid silver salts were made circa 1810. Of cylindrical form, they are raised on a hollow circular foot. Each cylindrical body inscribed 'Salt' beneath a gadrooned rim and pierced removable cover. They were most probably made in Calcutta circa 1810-20. The hallmarks are very faint but appear to include a makers mark and pseudo Lion passant marks. They are very distinctive of the period.

Condition:
Very good for the age.
No dings or dents.
No loss to piercings on dome covers.
