Description

This exquisite silver miniature of a watering can was made in the Netherlands by H. Hooijkaas at the end of the 19th Century. It bears also a full set of London import marks including the marks of B H Joseph & Co, who specialised in the import of continental silver pieces. The cylindrical body embossed with pastoral scenes, the scroll handle ornate and decorative. A lovely addition to a collection of Dutch miniatures.
The underside fully hallmarked with Dutch Hallmarks marks, the top with a full set of English import marks.

Lion Passant.
London Assay Mark.
London import mark.
Date letter "c" for 1898.
B H J for B H Joseph & Co (Barnet Henry Joseph)
The base with a full set of Dutch hallmarks and maker's marks.
