Description
This elegant mid 19th Century French silver gilt and green glass scent bottle dates circa 1860. The embossed silver gilt hinged lid fitted on a delightful tear-drop shaped green glass body. The body heightened with gilt roses. The neck fitted with the original glass stopper. The base raised on a narrow pedestal foot.Hallmarks:
French guarantee mark.
Maker's marks in a lozenge.
Dimensions:
Height: 10cm / 4 inches.
Maximum width: 4cm / 1.5 inches.
Depth: 1cm / 0.2 inches.
Condition:
Very good.
Good hinge.
Top a little uneven, commensurate with age and use.
Gilt decorations rubbed at places , commensurate with age.
No chips or cracks to the glass.
Original stopper still present.
