The generous drum-shaped body pierced with panels of intricate foliate scrolls very much in the Gothic style of the era. The engraved hinged cover with a pierced thumb piece.The back with a shaped scroll handle. The inner lid partially hallmarked and the spread circular base fully hallmarked on the underside. The interior fitted with the original star-cut Bristol blue glass liner.
