Description

This delightful and unusual George III solid silver caddy spoon is dated Birmingham 1810 and was made by the prolific silversmith John Taylor, who specialised in small pieces and objects of vertu. The shovel shaped bowl engraved with pretty prick-dot decorations and pierced with stars. The handle engraved with stylised motifs surrounding an initialled reserve. The back fully hallmarked.

Birmingham Assay Mark.
Date letter "m" for 1810.
Duty Mark.
Lion Passant.

Very good.
