Description
This fabulous silver and dual coloured enamelled silver capstan inkwell was made by the prolific Levi & Salaman and is dated Birmingham 1908. The hinged silver lid mounted on a spread circular base. The cover inset with a rich turquoise engine-turned guilloche enamel background and surrounded by an elegant silver rimmed white border. Of traditional Capstan form, it is both elegant and striking.Complete with the original inner glass receptacle.
Loaded spread circular body.
Gilt inner lid.
Black bakelite underside. An exquisite and rather rare piece in wonderful condition.

L&S for Levi & Salaman
Birmingham Assay Mark.
Lion Passant .
Date letter "i" for 1908.
Condition:
The enamel is in pristine condition.
The silver lid is in very good condition.
The hinge is good and strong.
