Description
This unusual Victorian silver & amber glass inkwell was made by the renowned maker John Grinsell and is dated London 1897. The heavy circular sliced-cut glass base mounted with a fully hallmarked silver hinged lid. The lid with wrythen decorations surrounding a vacant roundel. The inner lid gilt and the inkwell with inner glass receptacle. The underside with star cut base.Hallmarks:

Date letter "b" for 1897.
