Description
This exquisite and very unusual Georgian silver thimble/ tape measure combination dates circa 1800. The thimble with drum-shaped filigree body surrounding a vacant cartouche. The base of the thimble screwing onto the conforming drum-shaped tape measure. The tape measure with domed winder and suspension loop. Retaining its original silk tape. The tape starting at 4 inches (it incurred a little loss in the last 225 years!)Hallmarks:
Unmarked as is practically always the case with filigree items, but tested as silver.

Maximum diameter: 1.5cm / 0.6 inches.
Condition:
Very good
No damage to the filigree work.
Winding mechanism still working.
