Description
This divine19th C. French Palais Royal uranium opaline glass casket dates circa 1870. The vivid green opaline glass egg with a central ormulu hinge. The top embellished by a bronze dore finial. The egg encased in a beautiful ormulu mount and sits on an ala baster circular base.Palais Royal is a term used to describe, not a single manufacturer, but to a name given to a small area around the Royal Palace that specialised in producing small elaborate works of art and gifts in the 18th and 19th centuries.
