This is a delightful mid-19th Century, French, *Palais Royal, egg-shaped casket box. The white opaline egg casket with an ormolu hinge mount. The egg resting in a nest of gilt bronze wirework. The wirework frame raised on four legs. Exquisitely made.*Palais Royal is a term used to describe, not a single manufacturer, but to a name given to a small area around the Royal Palace that specialised in producing small elaborate works of art and gifts in the 18th and 19th centuries.
