Description
This very elegant pair of George III silver salts was made by the illustrious Robert Hennell I and is dated London 1773. Each salt of of oval outline, the sides pierced with openwork geometric patterns surrounding a crested cartouche. The top with gadroon border. The base resting on four claw and ball footed legs.Fitted with the original and rather stunning star-cut Bristol blue glass liners and sold with a pair of Georgian initialled salt spoons dated London 1824.
The Hennell family was a silversmithing dynasty that spanned four generations.

Date letter "S" for 1773.
Condition:
Very good
No dings or dents.
Minor corrosion marks at places , commensurate with age and use.
