Description
This is an exquisite 19th. C French 19th gilt metal thimble in its original egg-shaped ormulu thimble case. The outer case chased all over with blossom flowers and fitted with a suspension chain. The side with a thumb-piece opening to reveal the original interior fitted with Royal blue silk and crushed green velvet. So often, the interior of these holders are missing. This is a beautiful complete example.Dimensions:
