Description
This delightful solid silver trinket box was made by the celebrated Saunders & Shepherd and is dated Chester 1912. Of rounded rectangular form, the cover and sides profusely embossed with foliate designs. The hinged lid with vacant reserve. Both lid and base with decorative pinched borders. Retains the original gilt interior.Hallmarks:
CS*FS for Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings Shepherd.
Chester Assay Mark.
Lion Passant.
Date letter "M" for 1912.
