Description

This delightful silver and pique tortoiseshell small dressing table jar is dated Birmingham 1915 and was made by the renowned Mappin & Webb. The tortoiseshell screw top lid heightened with elegant silver pique decorations. Mounted on a clear sliced cut glass body and fitted with the original glass stopper.
Hallmarks:
M&W for Mappin & Webb.
Birmingham Assay Mark.
Lion Passant.
Date letter "q" for 1915.
Condition:
Good to average.
Reflected in the price.
Tortoiseshell lid glossy but not smooth.
Glass in perfect condition. No chips or cracks.
Silver sides with minor dimples, commensurate with age.
Screw top a little loose but functioning.
