Description

This beautiful and rather unusual small George III silver cream jug is dated London 1795 and bears the marks of Samuel Meriton II. The straight body with bright-engraved decorations and prick-dot motifs. the front with a vacant shield-shaped cartouche. It has a good silver gauge and feels satisfyingly heavy when picked up.
Simple and elegant reeded border and scroll handle.

London Assay mark.
Lion Passant.
Date letter "u" for 1795.
