Description

This stunning Victorian silver christening mug is hallmarked for Sheffield 1844 and bears the marks of the renowned Mappin & Webb. Of cylindrical form, embossed in the Naturalisitic style with unusual and beautiful floral patterns surrounding a vacant reserve.
C- shape handle and original gilt interior.
Excellent silver gauge.

JNM in Gothic lettering for Mappin & Webb (John Newton Mappin)
Lion Passant.
Sheffield Assay mark.
Duty Mark.
Date letter "R" for 1844.
