Description
This is a very elegant solid silver and guilloche enamel letter opener or paper knife. The handle with pale blue engine-turned guilloche enamel on both sides. Mounted with the original stainless steel blade. It is a good size, measuring over 9 inches long, and is very tactile and pleasing to use.Hallmarks:
M&W for Mappin & Webb.
London Assay mark.
Lion Passant.
Date letters "n" for 1928.
Condition:
Very good.
Enamel in very good condition on both sides.
Maker's marks partially erased but identifiable to an expert eye.
