Description
This superb "Georgian revival" solid silver tea caddy is hallmarked for Chester 1905 and was made by the renowned Nathan & Hayes. It is of very generous proportions and has an excellent silver gauge. The style reminiscent of a Georgian design. Silver Georgian revival pieces were all the rage in the Edwardian era, they were often very good quality pieces made by renowned silversmiths. Of typical oval bellied form, It is bright-engraved with stylised leaves and neo-classical key patterns. The hinged domed cover with an ebonised wood finial.
Good gauge and wonderful quality.
Original rich gilt interior.
