Description

This rare and rather fabulous silver and cornflower blue enamel inkwell was made by the celebrated William Hutton & Sons. Of traditional Capstan form, with a 5" inches diameter, it is both elegant and striking. The spread circular silver base with a reeded border. It has a fabulous cornflower blue guilloche enamel hinged lid.
Complete with the original inner glass receptacle.
Loaded spread circular body.
Gilt inner lid.
Black bakelite underside.
Hallmarks:
WH&S LD for William Hutton & Sons.
Birmingham Assay Mark.
Lion Passant.
Date letter "F" for 1930.
Condition:
Excellent.
The enamel is in very good condition.
The hinge is good and strong.
Hallmarks are clear.
Silver base free from dings.
Bakelite base in perfect glossy condition.
