Description

This superb quality solid silver Art Deco tea service was made by the renowned Mappin & Webb. Each piece with an excellent gauge of silver, the combined weight being an impressive 38 ounces. The teapot of cantered rectangular form is raised on shell-capped cabriole legs The top with a finely engraved shell frieze. The domed cover with black ebonised finial. Both cream jug and sugar bowl of conforming form with flat angular handles.

M&W for Mappin & Webb.
Sheffield Assay Mark.
Lion Passant.
Date letter "n" for 1930.
