Description

This exquisite 18th Century silver etui was made by the reputed and very collectable Samuel Pemberton. It is of tapering form and is charmingly bright-engraved with feather edge and prick-dot borders.
The gilt interior fitted with the original glass scent bottle, a rather rare occurrence, making it very desirable.
Push button mechanism at the front.
Fitted with the original chain.
Hallmarks:
(Partially hallmarked, which was very usual for small items)
On both lid and base
SP for Samuel Pemberton.
Birmingham Assay Mark.
Duty head.
Dimensions:
Height: 4cm / 1.4 inches.
Width at base: 2.2cm / 0.6 inches.
Condition:
Very good for its age.
Minor dings at places, barely noticeable and mentioned for accuracy.
Push button mechanism a little worn but the lid still opens and closes satisfactorily.
