Description

This fun and rather unusual apple -shaped Edwardian silver and clear glass preserve jar is dated Birmingham 1905. The glass body with a sterling silver lid realistically shaped as the top of an apple and having a stalk as a finial. Sold with well-matched solid silver preserve spoon by George Unite, dated Birmingham 1915.
Hallmarks:
C&F for Coles & Fryer.
Birmingham Assay Mark.
Lion Passant.
Date letter "e" for 1905.
Hallmarks on spoon:
GU for George Unite.
Birmingham Assay Mark.
Lion Passant.
Date letter "q" for 1915.
Dimensions:
Height: 9.5cm / 3.7 inches.
Maximum diameter: 7.5cm / 3 inches.
Condition:
